About Us

Hello, fellow nature lovers! We're Willa, Dara, Harriet, and Geoff, and we want to share a bit about how Benville Manor Camping came to be.

When the world turned upside down during the COVID lockdown, us city folks - Willa and Dara - found ourselves relocating from the hustle and bustle of London to the peaceful Dorset countryside. Living with Willa's mum Harriet and stepdad Geoff at Benville Manor, we got to thinking... How could we turn these unexpected circumstances into something positive?

We wanted to build a haven, a quiet spot in our little corner of West Dorset that was as much for the local wildlife as it was for those of us who crave a break from our busy lives.

So, that's what we did.

Benville Manor Camping is all about bringing people as close as possible to nature, without losing the basic comforts of home. We've kept everything minimum impact, from the wildflower meadow tent pitches to the compost toilets and outdoor showers. It's about you being one with nature throughout your stay and letting the tranquillity of the surroundings wash over you.

We've intentionally kept the number of pitches low. Why? So there's plenty of wild space between each group, enhancing that peaceful, away-from-it-all vibe we all love so much.

Benville Manor Camping is more than just a campsite; it's the joy of waking up in a wildflower meadow, the simple pleasure of a hot shower under open skies, and the tranquillity of a starry night far from the city lights.

We can't wait to welcome you here, to share stories around the campfire, and to enjoy the peaceful, nature-filled escape we all need from time to time. So pack your tent, and join us at Benville Manor Camping for a truly unique camping experience!

Book your stay at either Pitchup or Campsites.co.uk.

What to Expect

Benville Manor Camping is a back to basics site that's all about having a minimal impact on the environment and our facilities reflect this.

We have composting toilets on site, but don't worry, we keep them very clean and they don't smell bad!

Our much loved hot showers are outdoor, meaning you can wash while enjoying the clouds or the stars!

The camping field is kept wild, with pitches mown among the grass and wildflowers. Its bordered by the manor house gardens to the South, a nature reserve project to the West, a woodland to the North, and fields and hills to the East. Campers are welcome, and encouraged, to explore all of these and to forage some kindling along the way.

We rent out fire pits and sell logs and a few other items at the camp reception caravan.
